Maura Lamb was born and raised in Knoxville,TN.

She attended Milligan College in Johnson City,TN her freshman year, then transferred to UT Sophomore year. Student Spotlight – Kaitlyn Morehead

Kaitlyn Morehead is a senior Communication Studies Major with a minor in American Sign Language. As a first generation college student, Kaitlyn was determined and motivated to make every moment in college count. She describes her time at the University of Tennessee as “the greatest, yet most challenging”, years of her life.

“UT has taught me to challenge myself in ways I could have never imagined from picking a major that I love, to branching out and joining organizations, I have pushed myself to find different things I enjoy.”

Student Spotlight – Bunny Shaw

Senior communication studies major Bunny Shaw wrapped up her spectacular Tennessee soccer career in the fall, earning SEC Offensive Player of the Year and All-American accolades. She was named The Guardian Footballer of the Year and will lead Jamaica into its first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup in June. Read More

Charles J McClung Public Speaking Contest

Ms. May Lee and DJ Woo

During spring break, Dr. DaJung Woo took a trip to Silicon Valley, CA to visit some tech organizations and learn about their cultures. She met with employees of Apple, scientists at SLAC-Stanford National Laboratory, and her former research collaborator in the urban planning field.  Among those whom she enjoyed meeting was Ms. May Lee (aka “Ms. Purple”), who is a graduate of UTK (Computer Science major, ’88) and currently works as the Marketing Communication Manager at HP.

Alumni Spotlight – Brad Vinson

Brad VinsonBrad Vinson completed his undergraduate education at the University of Tennessee, majoring in communication. He went on to attend law school at South Texas College of Law Houston, where he met his law partner, Jarrod Smith. While in law school, Brad co-founded the South Texas Criminal Law Society, working to help educate fellow South Texas students on important issues in the field of criminal law, such as mass incarceration, media influence on high profile criminal cases, and the death penalty.
