When I arrived at UT I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to major in, let alone strive for a career in. Once I took my first communication course, I knew I was in the right place. Cassie Ray is one of two alums to complete all three degrees-B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. at the School of Communication Studies. Cassie says she is “filled with pride to say I am truly (and literally) ‘All Vol.'” “Each degree changed me, they shaped me to be a more competent, professional and better person in general.

Ella Anderson is from Memphis, TN. Ella majored in Communication Studies and is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
“UT and the School of Communication Studies has provided me with countless opportunities and equipped me with many skills. I have also been involved in the CMST Club and the Spanish club. Throughout my four years in the School of Communication Studies I have learned so much not only about communication, but also about myself as an individual.

Royal Youth Dance Ensemble, Inc.

The Royal Youth Dance Ensemble, Inc. is a local nonprofit organization that offers affordable dance classes to low-income children who are facing adverse traumatic experiences. These children would not otherwise be able to affordable dance as an extracurricular activity. Our program provides a safe space for discovery and creativity during after school hours, which helps reduce risky behaviors at-risk will inevitably face. We also offer afterschool tutoring, mentoring, and coaching to our dance students, as well as non-dance students who have academic gaps.
