The School of Communication Studies at the University of Tennessee is dedicated to a scientific approach toward understanding the processes involved in interpersonal and organizational communication.
UT’s School of Communication Studies combines expertise in interpersonal and organizational communication to study the communicative aspects of human relationships including: mentoring, leadership, socialization, organizational development, social networks, conflict, organizational change, and persuasion. Put simply, we focus our efforts to answer questions about how humans exchange information within interpersonal and organizational contexts.
Communication Studies offers a degree program at the undergraduate level and participates in the College-wide master’s and doctoral level programs.
Founded in 1987, the school consists of a dynamic and interdisciplinary faculty focusing on human communication occurring within interpersonal and organizational contexts. The faculty is fully committed to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for positions of leadership across a broad range of careers and occupations.
