Student Spotlight – Kaitlyn Morehead
Kaitlyn Morehead is a senior Communication Studies Major with a minor in American Sign Language. As a first generation college student, Kaitlyn was determined and motivated to make every moment in college count. She describes her time at the University of Tennessee as “the greatest, yet most challenging”, years of her life.
“UT has taught me to challenge myself in ways I could have never imagined from picking a major that I love, to branching out and joining organizations, I have pushed myself to find different things I enjoy.”
Kaitlyn is currently a member of Student Organization for Deaf Awareness (SODA) on campus. This organization has provided her many friendships with my peers and the Deaf community in Knoxville. After graduation, Kaitlyn plans on completing her ASLPI and pursuing a career in Deaf Education. Through the skills and experience she has attained during her time at the University of Tennessee, she is confident she can excel in whatever opportunities come her way!
