Curt Maggitt was born and raised in South Florida, West Palm Beach. In 2011 he came to Tennessee on a full scholarship to join the Volunteer football team. He decided that majoring in Communication Studies would be the best fit for him. Maggitt graduated from the College of Communication in 2014. After a promising football career at Tennessee, All- American, SEC honors and other awards, he went on to play professionally with the Indianapolis Colts.
In 2018, after a football career that included seven surgeries and three-years in the NFL, Maggitt decided it was time to transition. During his off-season he found pleasure in learning new skills and serving others. He is a proud member of ‘The Program,’ a leadership group that works with premier colleges all over the country. He also earned my real estate license and his freediving certification. Along the way he grew a passion for photography. After a wedding in Memphis, he was published in Southern Bride Magazine. A love of serving others led Curt to initiate and host an event in east Knox. They raised over $10,000 and made an impact on the lives of many. Through this fundraiser they were able to send young men on several field trips, football games, dinner for an etiquette night, and hosted several families for thanksgiving.
In 2019, Curt joined the Haslam College of Business as an MBA candidate in Supply Chain and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Over the past year, he began serving as a consultant for the UT athletic program in transition and development. Upon graduation, he will join Honeywell as a member of their Supply Chain Leadership Program, ISC PACE program. Maggitt will continue helping others, currently serving as a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Council at Tennessee; creating programs and identifying ways to produce sustainable change.
