Student Spotlight-Daniel Sassone
My name is Daniel Mark Sassone, I’m from Easton, Pennsylvania. I spent 13 years on Active Duty with the United States Army as a Military Policeman, I finished another two years on inactive duty and completed my official retirement on 15 April 2020. I enrolled at the University of Tennessee for the Fall 2018 semester as a Journalism and Electronic Media major and then transitioned in Spring of 2019 to Communication Studies. During my time as a student at the University of Tennessee I was involved in TNJN (Tennessee Journalist), TorchlightUTK, NCSC and SALUTE honor societies. I’m an active member of the local veterans’ community and work with 3 different Veteran related Non-Profits. I’ve also had the joy of studying abroad in Ireland with Drs. Haas and Miller, and had a practicum with Knoxville Entrepreneurship Center. I’m staying in Knoxville after graduation working as a Community Relations Coordinator for Sitel Group Tennessee (Nashville/Knoxville). I also look forward to pursuing the new concentration for graduate programs here at the University of Tennessee in Strategic Communications.
