Student Spotlight-Jonathan Johnson

December 16, 2019 by School of Communication Studies

Jonathan Johnson is graduating second in his class this December with a major in Communication Studies and a minor in Political Science. He is from Sevierville, TN and always dreamed of being a Volunteer. He went on two trips to Washington DC with the Communication Studies, where he later called home during a summer internship with the United States Congress. For the last three years, Jonathan has also interned for Vol Sports which has given him the chance to combine his passion for communication and athletics. After graduation he plans to pursue a career in social media and sports.

“I am so grateful for my time in the Communication Studies program. It has given me the opportunity to grow and flourish throughout my time here. I’m thankful for the networking opportunities that Dr. Haas and others have provided us through trips like the DC trip. I am also thankful to CCI for supporting programs like the CCI Global Scholars in Sydney, which I was fortunate enough to participate in. As much as I hate to leave UT, I am so excited to take the skills and life experiences I have learned here out into the world. Go Vols!”
