Dr. Michael Kotowski is an Associate Professor of Communication in the School of Communication Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Kotowski has expertise in the social cognitive processes of social influence and interpersonal/small group communication. He also has expertise in research methodology, particularly in the area of measurement. One representative area in which Michael’s research interests are focused on uncovering the characteristics of the influential and modeling the mechanisms of their persuasive ability. Dr. Kotowski’s research interests can be described more broadly, however, as developing and testing social influence theory.
