Before students enter the realm of college, it is extremely beneficial for them to have some kind of background in public speaking. This can reduce rates of speech anxiety and make the transition to public speaking in college and the workforce much easier.
On the following pages we have compiled articles featuring activities created by communication scholars across the country. We have activities for both elementary and high school students that introduce students to public speaking and get them more comfortable with it. Under the high school tab, we also have activities that our students did in high school that helped prepare them for public speaking at the college level.
